Yolk Digital is seeking an Automation Tester to join the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR), supporting the Chief Information Officer Division's delivery of various ICT projects across the organisation. DISR plays a central role in the Australian Government's economic agenda, working to build a productive, resilient and sustainable economy through investment in science, technology and industry growth. The CIO Division provides enabling services and operations delivery to the department and Australian businesses, and is seeking experienced and motivated automation testers who can contribute effectively across a range of ICT initiatives. Working within multidisciplinary agile and traditional delivery teams, you will play a key role in ensuring digital solutions are robust, reliable and accessible, driving quality outcomes across the full testing lifecycle.
• Create and oversee test plans and strategies including test plans managed through Azure DevOps • Write, review and execute test cases on web-based applications, effectively prioritising testing efforts and execution • Analyse documented specifications, user stories and requirements to generate comprehensive test cases and plans within multidisciplinary project teams • Raise, log and track defects and issues using departmental tools including Azure DevOps • Provide advice and input into testing strategy and support the implementation of automation testing practices • Test digital solutions for conformance to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) • Lead and engage with business stakeholders throughout the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process • Contribute as an active member of a multidisciplinary team operating across agile and traditional delivery methods

1. Automation Testing Experience — Demonstrated experience and expertise in automation testing with well-developed software testing skills and a proven track record in application and system tester roles 2. Test Artefact Development — Expertise in developing test artefacts including writing, reviewing and executing complex test plans and cases, and developing test strategies 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration — Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work productively within cross-functional teams alongside Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Application Developers, Web Developers and Subject Matter Experts 4. Agile Ways of Working — Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agile environment with geographically dispersed teams 5. Accessibility Testing — Thorough knowledge and understanding of testing digital solutions for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) conformance 6. Communication — Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to engage successfully with non-technical stakeholders
1. Azure & Microsoft Testing — Experience developing test plans and cases for custom applications including the Azure and Microsoft suite of products and services 2. Azure DevOps — Experience tracking and managing test plans and test cases through Azure DevOps 3. UAT Facilitation — Experience guiding and leading User Acceptance Testing activities
