You'll join the ICT Operations Branch at the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, within the ICT Networks & Infrastructure Platforms section. The Infrastructure Platforms team manages the department's data centres, server hosting and virtualisation, automation, storage, and backup and restore capability, and provides after-hours on-call support for critical infrastructure. As a Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineer, you'll deploy, configure, manage and tune the department's storage systems across both physical and virtual layers, and configure and manage Storage Area Network switches as required. You'll bring knowledge of new and emerging technologies to help shape the future direction of the department's storage and data platforms, and you'll produce the design, build and operations documentation that keeps the environment maintainable. You'll also mentor and share knowledge with junior members of the team. This is an onsite role in Canberra supporting a large, complex government ICT environment.

• Deploy, configure, manage and tune the department's storage systems at physical and virtual layers • Deploy, configure and manage Storage Area Network switches as required • Apply knowledge of new and emerging technologies to shape the future direction of the department's storage and data platforms • Produce design, build and operations documentation, and handover and knowledge-sharing material • Mentor and share knowledge with junior team members • Contribute to after-hours on-call support for infrastructure as required

1. Storage systems experience Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the design, administration, tuning and troubleshooting of one or more of the following storage systems: • HPE 3PAR, Primera, Alletra Storage Systems • NetApp E-Series • Dell Data Domain • Brocade Fabric Switches • SANnav • Scality Artesca 2. Documentation Ability to produce design, build and operations documents for processes and procedures. 3. Communication and collaboration Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills to work with skilled technical people, including making presentations to staff and stakeholders and coaching staff. 4. Backup technology Experience / knowledge of the following technology: • Veeam Backup and Replication
