About the Organisation Yolk Digital is seeking candidates to join the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR), an integral part of the Australian Government's economic agenda focused on building a productive, resilient and sustainable economy enriched by science and technology. Within DISR, the Chief Information Officer Division drives the department's digital agenda — partnering with business areas to deliver transformation, co-design digital experiences, and innovate ICT services. This role sits within the ICT Operations Branch, specifically the End User Services section, which is responsible for the management, maintenance and continuous improvement of the department's end-user digital technologies. This includes the standard operating environment, corporate device management, desktop application packaging, Microsoft 365, and collaboration and communication tools such as Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams.
• Manage and enhance the department's hybrid Exchange environment and key communication platforms, including ongoing migration of mail data and groups to Exchange Online • Maintain existing Exchange Server infrastructure and Enterprise Vault archiving solution • Develop migration approaches and lead rationalisation of Enterprise Vault archive data • Investigate and resolve complex technical problems across the technical stack • Create and maintain technical documentation including as-built, design, migration plans, disaster recovery and decommissioning documentation • Represent the team technically at project meetings and facilitate technical workshops as required • Cross-skill with team members and provide assistance to support staff in related teams including the service desk

1. Expert knowledge of Exchange Server, Exchange Online, and configuration of hybrid Exchange deployments, including implementation, upgrades and day to day management activities in a complex multi-forest environment. 2. Proven experience in migrations including to Exchange Online, cross forest and from legacy Exchange versions. 3. High-level Exchange troubleshooting skills, including for mail flow, mail gateway technologies and on-premise/cloud-based resource connectivity. 4. High-level knowledge of Windows Server fundamentals (e.g. Active Directory, DNS, DFS etc), and Group Policy configuration (including Advanced Group Policy Management). 5. Experience with Australian Government IT Cyber Security processes including ISM, Essential 8 and ACSC hardening guides. 6. Strong experience in writing technical documentation including design documentation and standard operating procedures.
1. Experience with Arctera Enterprise Vault, Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP), Microsoft Intune mobile device management and Intune policy. 2. Experience with broader Microsoft 365 services would also be beneficial.
