You'll join one of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority's IT project teams as a Senior Power Platform Software Engineer, one of three senior engineers being engaged for new positions. AMSA's IT project teams are small resource groups that work closely with business teams, so you'll be expected to understand AMSA's business and mission and to fit cohesively into a high-performing team in a small organisation. Your work is full-stack development on Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse and the Power Platform, including Power Pages. You'll build modern front ends in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS with frameworks such as Vue.js, and back-end services in C# and .NET with REST APIs, JSON and SQL, integrating the two. You'll connect the Power Platform to Azure through API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Power Automate, and work within established application architectures, development patterns and reusable components using Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD practices. As a senior engineer you'll oversee software development work, write optimised code, provide technical leadership to other engineers and take responsibility for the quality and functionality of what your team produces, bringing strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills to a collaborative multidisciplinary delivery environment. AMSA has a growing interest in AI and intelligent automation (Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI Builder, generative AI and agent-based solutions), so experience there is valued.

• Oversee software development projects and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. • Write optimised code and take responsibility for the quality and functionality of the software your team produces. • Develop solutions on Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse and the Power Platform, including Power Pages. • Build front-end applications in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS using modern frameworks such as Vue.js, and integrate them with backend services. • Develop full-stack services with C#, .NET, REST APIs, JSON and SQL. • Integrate Azure and Power Platform services using API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Power Automate. • Work within established application architectures, development patterns and reusable components, using Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD practices. • Work cohesively with business teams and multidisciplinary delivery teams in a small, high-performing organisation.

Hybrid. Flexible in office / work from home, but ACT-based staff are strongly preferred. AMSA will consider candidates working outside the ACT.

1. Dynamics 365 and Power Platform development Demonstrated experience developing solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse and the Power Platform, including Power Pages. 2. Front-end development Strong front-end development skills using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS, with experience in modern frameworks such as Vue.js. 3. Full-stack development Strong full-stack development skills, including experience with C#, .NET, REST APIs, JSON and SQL, and integrating front-end applications with backend services. 4. Azure and Power Platform integration Experience with Azure and Power Platform integration technologies, such as API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Power Automate. 5. Architecture, patterns and DevOps Experience working with established application architectures, development patterns and reusable components, including Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD practices. 6. Analysis, problem-solving and communication Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with demonstrated experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary delivery teams.

1. Experience with AI and intelligent automation technologies, such as Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI Builder, generative AI or agent-based solutions. 2. Relevant Microsoft certifications across Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure or AI will be highly regarded.

Address the Desirable Criteria where you can, particularly AI and intelligent automation work (Azure AI, Copilot, AI Builder, generative AI, agents) and Microsoft certifications.
