The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts is replacing its corporate systems, and it needs an experienced Enterprise Architect to hold the architecture line across the whole ERP Program. This is a department-side assurance role, not a platform configuration role. You'll sit between the ERP Program and the parts of the department that the program touches: Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, IT Operations, business owners, data owners, vendors and implementation partners. Where Workday, ServiceNow and Accenture architects design within their own product boundaries, your job is to test those designs against the department's whole enterprise, and to say so clearly when they don't line up. Day to day you'll build and maintain the department's own architecture artefacts for the program: current-state, transition-state and target-state views across business, data, application, technology and security. You'll write the decision papers and governance packs that go to the IT Architecture Board, the ERP Program Board and the ERP Steering Committee, and you'll be the person who names the risks, dependencies and unresolved decisions that need executive resolution rather than letting them sit. Much of the interesting work sits between the platforms: integration patterns and middleware, identity and privileged access, segregation of duties, records integration, reporting continuity, monitoring and operational support. You'll also shape how the department steps away from its existing SAP capability, covering data retention, reporting, records obligations and transition sequencing.

Enterprise alignment and governance • Develop and maintain department-side enterprise architecture artefacts for the ERP Program, including current-state, transition-state and target-state views across business, data, application, technology and security domains. • Provide architecture alignment advice to ensure Workday, ServiceNow and implementation partner designs are consistent with the department's enterprise architecture principles, digital strategy, technology roadmap, cloud direction, cyber requirements and service management model. • Prepare architecture advice, decision papers, diagrams and governance packs for the IT Architecture Board, ERP Program Board, ERP Steering Committee and other relevant forums. • Identify and escalate architecture risks, issues, dependencies, constraints and decision points requiring business, technical or executive resolution. Cross-platform and non-core-platform design • Lead or support architecture design work that sits outside the core Workday and ServiceNow platform configuration responsibilities. • Define and assure cross-platform design patterns for integrations, identity, access, records integration, reporting, monitoring, data exchange, operational support and transition states. • Support design options for legacy system decommissioning, including existing SAP capability, dependent business systems, data retention, reporting continuity, records obligations and transition sequencing. • Ensure platform designs from implementation partners are assessed against whole-of-department requirements, not just individual product boundaries. Integration, identity and data architecture assurance • Support the development and assurance of the ERP integration architecture, including API patterns, middleware, data exchange, event flows, service boundaries, integration ownership, error handling, monitoring and operational support. • Work with Cyber Security and identity teams to ensure identity, access, privileged access, segregation of duties, logging, monitoring and incident response considerations are reflected in ERP architecture artefacts. • Support data architecture assurance for key ERP data domains, including authoritative sources, ownership, flows, migration, reporting needs, metadata, retention and data quality considerations. Platform design assurance • Review and provide department-side assurance over Workday, ServiceNow, Accenture and other implementation partner architecture outputs, including solution architecture, integration design, environment design, data migration approach, non-functional requirements and transition-to-operations artefacts. • Confirm that platform-specific designs align with the department's broader enterprise architecture, cyber, records, data, cloud, service management and operational support requirements. • Document architectural gaps, unresolved dependencies and decision points where vendor/platform designs require department direction or governance approval.

Hybrid. The worker must be in the office at least 3 days a week. They must start and finish work within the department's standard working hours (7am to 7pm).

Candidate relevant ERP enterprise architecture and integration assurance experience Demonstrated experience providing enterprise architecture leadership, design assurance and governance across complex ERP or corporate systems programs, including integration, identity, data, reporting, records, cyber/security, service management, decommissioning and transition-to-operations considerations. Experience working alongside Workday, ServiceNow, SAP, cloud and implementation partner architects will be highly regarded.
